Video: Robertson dominates day two of the Stena Match Cup

Action from the second day of qualifying at the Stena Match Cup in Marstrand, Sweden on Tuesday.

Phil Robertson produced a stunning day of racing to move to the top of the leaderboard on the second day of the Stena Match Cup in Sweden on Tuesday.

Robertson, the skipper of WAKA Racing, joins Simone Ferrarese in the top spot after seven wins and just a single loss in his races so far.

He put part of the teams success down to their forward thinking.

Phil Robertson:
“It’s been a really good start for us here. We’ve got seven wins and one loss so that’s almost perfect. We just lost the last one so it always sucks coming off the water with one loss and right at the end of day. But no, it’s been going really well. The guys are sailing really well. They’ve got a really good handle on the conditions here and we seem to be thinking far enough ahead of what it’s going to be doing next and putting the boat in the right place. And yes, we’re sailing fast and I think the communication on board has been really really good and we’ve cleaned a lot of things up from the last two events.”

He also attributes his success to three days of training before this regatta, the third event on the Alpari World Match Racing Tour.
