Indias shooting medal winners5 Indian Shooters have qualified for the Rio Olympics, thus occupying all the available slots for India. With a year left for the Rio Olympics, it is a welcome result for the Indian shooting team.Indian shooters have performed well at the last 3 Olympics. It all started with Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore winning a silver medal at 2004 Athens Olympics in a double trap event.Then Abhinav Bindra became the first Indian to win an individual Gold at the Olympic Games when he won Gold in 10m Air rifle event at 2008 Beijing Olympics. Vijay Kumar also won silver in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event at 2012 London Olympics.Gagan Narang also won bronze at the 10m Air Rifle event at the 2012 Summer Games.Indias performance has improved over time at the Summer Games, and thus a great responsibility lies on these 5 shooters who are going to compete to get medals for the nation.Heres all you need to know about those who have already made the cut:Note:Olympic Qualification system for Shooting Sport is based on 2 things: Olympics Quota Places (390 allotted for Rio Olympics) and Minimum Qualification Score (As designated by ISSF).

India’s Chain Singh became the 7th Indian shooter to seal a quota place at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 50m rifle 3 position event. The 27-year old qualified by finishing 7th at the ISSF World Cup in Granada shooting a score of 1174 on 1200. 

Chain won a bronze medal in the same category at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon and won a gold at the International Shooting Competition of Hannover earlier this year.

India can certainly expect a podium finish from him at the Summer Games next year.
