3 reasons why Alberto Del Rio should return to the WWE
Alberto Del Rio – WWE bound? It’s not like we haven’t seen this before. Wrestlers gets fired from promotion, only to return and become an even bigger star than he was before. It would appear that might be the case as rumors are swirling over the return of Alberto Del Rio to WWE and another push for the Latin star. And should he return to the stomping grounds that helped put Latino wrestling back on the map, when would the right time be for him to make an appearance on television?Between WWE and Mexico, Rodríguez is a six-time world champion, having held the WWE Championship twice, WWE's World Heavyweight Championship twice, the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship once, and the current holder of the AAA Mega Championship. Rodríguez also won the 2011 Royal Rumble and a WWE Championship contract in the 2011 Money in the Bank ladder match, making him the first, and so far the only wrestler to win both in the same calendar year.He is currently signed to Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), and Lucha Underground (LU) while also competing on the United States independent circuit, as well as promotions in Japan and Puerto Rico. To say he is a busy man is an understatement.Del Rio was fired on August 7, 2014 for what WWE announced was "unprofessional conduct" following an altercation with an employee who allegedly made a racist joke.Should he come back to WWE? Here are a few reasons why he should:
#1 A surprise Royal Rumble participant
I suspect, when fans watch the 2016 Royal Rumble in Orlando, there will be a few entrants who will surprise us all. Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, maybe John Cena (as if this isn’t a guarantee for his “comeback”) and Del Rio. There is no better stage for this to happen.
Bubba Ray Dudley made his triumphant return to WWE when he was part of the Royal Rumble and soon, he and Devon were back in the WWE ring they made famous with their extreme style of wrestling.
The Royal Rumble is certainly not what it used to be, but it has been a breeding ground for surprises. Remember as well that Road Dogg Jesse James made his appearance in the Rumble, only to embark on another run in tag team wrestling with Billy Gunn.
Del Rio could enter and win the Rumble, much like he has in the past and embark on a run as WWE World Champion again. And if he had the support of Vince McMahon (an angle I think that would work once the Authority is dissolved), who knows what happens in 2016 concerning the company title.
