With the title not yet decided even until the last day of the season, Manchester United and Manchester City were the two teams who were fighting for the top honours. Going into the final game, United and City were locked on same point, with City edging ahead of United on superior goal difference.

City needed to match United’s result to claim the Premier League title, their first in 44 long years.

Manchester City took the lead in the 39th minute of the game through Pablo Zabaleta, and were looking to double their lead to relax some nerves, but City struggled against a resolute QPR defence. With three minutes left for half time, Djibril Cisse brought Rangers level after a woeful mistake by Joleon Lescott.

And even though Joey Barton was sent off and QPR left with 10 men, they managed to stun the City fans after Jamie Mackie’s headed effort found the back of the net.

With the title slipping away from their hands, City started attacking at a rapid pace and finally found the back of the net through Edin Dzeko in the added time. The news had reached the Etihad Stadium about Manchester United’s win over Sunderland, and that meant City had to find a winner.

Into the last minute of added time and Aguero surged into the QPR penalty area, and scored a stunner into the bottom right corner. The Etihad Stadium erupted with joy and the celebrations and the scenes were crazy.

The title was decided on the last minute of the season through Sergio Aguero’s goal.
