5 reasons why Bryan – Lesnar feud will change WWE

If we believe the rumors and the dirt sheets, the main event for SummerSlam has already been penciled down, at least tentatively if not anything else. The only variable in the equation is the return date for Daniel Bryan. WWE is confident that Bryan will return to action before the Money in The Bank PPV, and will compete against Kane in a stretcher match. They also have a back up plan in case something goes wrong, and Daniel Bryan is unable to recuperate in time for the show. However, that is just a worst case scenario, and WWE is confident about Daniel Bryan getting back inside the ring by the end of the month.Daniel Bryans next opponent after Kane is scheduled to be the one superstar who has the power to make or break someones legacy. That is the kind of rub someone gets when they happen to end the coveted undefeated streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania. When Brock Lesnar conquered the streak at WrestleMania 30, not only did it make him one of the greatest competitors in the business overnight, it also put enormous burden on his shoulders, to walk around as the guy in professional wrestling. Everyone knew the consequences of being the one to end the legendary streak, and for most of the superstars, it was a burden they werent willing to carry. What was once seen as next to impossible, something similar to breaking the legendary Joe DiMaggios 56 game hitting streak, crumbled in front of the millions of wrestling fans, as The Undertaker finally laid down for the most important three seconds in the history of WrestleMania.Brock Lesnars legitimacy was never a question. The former UFC Heavyweight champion proved that he was the toughest professional wrestler to step foot inside a WWE ring, but perhaps, the burden of being the one to break the streak wasnt exactly what Lesnar was looking for when he returned to the WWE a couple of years ago. But now that the streak has been broken, Brock Lesnar holds the proverbial key that can unlock so many treasure chests in the WWE. Like a magician holding the most powerful wand in the world, Brock Lesnar alone has the capability and the opportunity to turn the WWE on its head. But the question remains: How will WWE utilize this opportunity? Will they put the belt on Lesnar to capitalize on his new found legacy? Or will they let Daniel Bryan win against Brock Lesnar, thus cementing himself to be one of the best WWE World Heavyweight champions, giving him the credibility that no one else in the WWE can give except for Lesnar? In this article, I look at five different ways that this bout can impact the WWE and possibly change the companys landscape.

#5 Cementing Daniel Bryans status as the face of the WWE

Yes, Daniel Bryan has faced the likes of Cena, Punk and Triple H, but after becoming the WWE World Heavyweight champion, there is no name in the WWE for Bryan to face which can top “The beast incarnate”, Brock Lesnar’s, either in legitimacy, star power, or just the magnitude of the superstar. Lesnar has done it all – He won the IWGP title, switched to MMA, won the UFC Heavyweight title, came back to the WWE and defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Brock Lesnar’s victory against ‘Taker automatically puts Lesnar in a league of his own. No one can be compared to Brock Lesnar, as no one has accomplished the things Lesnar has in his career. Brock will undoubtedly be Bryan’s toughest test till date, and a victory over Lesnar will not only give Daniel Bryan the credibility he hasn’t achieved yet as one of the best WWE champions in recent memory, but it will also validate Bryan’s career. You might think that I’m being naïve, but you shouldn’t underestimate the ‘rub’ Lesnar received by beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and the rub his opponents receive just by going toe – to – toe with him.
