5 talking points from India's 79-run defeat to Bangladesh in the first ODI

Coming into the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series, Indian captain MS Dhoni had asserted that Bangladesh were not to be taken lightly in ODI cricket anymore. Well, Dhoni's assertion proved accurate on Thursday as Bangladesh registered a comprehensive 79-run victory to take a 1-0 lead in the series.Opting to bat first, Bangladesh managed to give India an imposing target of 308 from their 50 overs, courtesy of both Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan hitting half-centuries. In reply, none of the Indian batsmen got going, with the exception of Rohit Sharma, as they were bundled out for 228 from 46 overs to succumb to a heavy defeat at the hands of the hosts. Here are 5 talking points from the match:

#1 Dhoni-Mustafizur on-field collision

Matches between India and Bangladesh have seen a fair share of controversies in recent times, their recent World Cup clash being a classic example, and the first ODI was no different in this regard. In the 25th over of the Indian innings, Dhoni ran into Mustafizur while taking a run and literally shoved him out of the way with his forearm, prompting the left-armer to walk off the field with immediate effect.

While Dhoni argued to the umpires that Mustafizur deliberately came in his way and tried to block him, the incident did look quite ugly and led to both of them being fined a considerable portion of their match fees.
