5 WWE stories that could do with some tweaking
King BarrettWWE is a massive wrestling organisation. In all honesty, nobody is close. The sheer scale of the company is beyond the reach of any other wrestling promotion, and with that comes good and bad. While WWE create some of the purest and finest storytelling there is, evident with Daniel Bryan’s eight month struggle and many more, there are also some instances where the other side of the coin is shown. Some stories lack reason, effort, they seem like they were thrown together out of desperation. This article looks at five of the current WWE storylines that could do with a little tweaking to make them more coherent.
#1 What is happening with King Barrett?
There have been many King Of The Ring winners in the past. A lot of them have gone on to achieve greatness. Most notably, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the King Of The Ring winner in 1996 and his career kickstarted after that triumph.
King Booker has arguably been the most famous winner, along with other names such as Sheamus, Jerry Lawler, Ted Dibiase, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Triple H and many more.
That’s why it appeared as if Wade Barrett had a great run ahead of him when he defeated fellow Brit Neville in the final of the 2015 King Of The Ring tournament.
Although looking dominant initially, Barrett would go on to lose the Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber match, and then get pushed down to the pre-show of Money In The Bank, where he jobbed to R-Truth. As of now, he is directionless, and one has to wonder if he only won the King Of The Ring tournament for the gimmick.
