5 WWE Superstars Who Could Tell A Good Story In The Ring
‘Latino Heat’Being a wrestler is one of the hardest things to do. While it may seem aesthetic and simple, there’s a multitude of things that go into creating a great wrestling match. WWE superstars, as well as the rest of the wrestling world, must create a story in the ring.Recently at NXT Takeover Respect, Sasha Banks and Bayley performed admirably in the main event. It was their second match at consecutive NXT Takeover specials. It was another 5-star match and it didn’t disappoint. Former-WWE announcerJim Ross, , commented on their match and praised both women for their spectacular performance. “An outstanding show on all fronts. Production values and the ‘look’ of the show typical, WWE standards which is always stellar. Solid, logical booking and a fundamentally sound, logical in ring presentation which was refreshing. The matches had the time to develop and how good is it to not have matches be interrupted by commercials? Plus, the show was a manageable two hours which is audience friendly. Sasha Banks is amazing in that she feels like a heel and enjoys finding and refining the nuances of being a pro wrestling villain. She wants to be disliked and not be perceived as cool. Bailey is the likeable, girl next door who has improved immensely since she first arrived at NXT.That’s what hard work and a burning desire to be the best at what one does will do for anyone.” Ross presents a lot of good reasons as to why NXT Takeover Respect was a great show. Banks and Bayley were the primary reason for that. After a splendid evening of wrestling, the Women’s Championship match provided the fans with drama, excitement and a great display of professional wrestling.Women haven’t been portrayed like they are in WWE NXT since Mickie James, Trish Stratus and Lita left the company. Now, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks are running the place. The moral of the story is telling a story in the ring is very important in the WWE. There were certain WWE stars who were perfect at being storytellers inside the squared circle and this slideshow takes a look at those legendary figures.
#1 Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels is considered the greatest in-ring performer of all-time. That isn’t saying he’s the best technical wrestler, which Michaels is not. There are guys who came through the WWE, who had better wrestling skills than the Heartbreak Kid.
However, nobody could touch HBK as a performer. It was the emotion that he displayed, as well as the ability to connect with the fans that separated him apart from the rest of the WWE roster. Even guys like Triple H, the Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker weren’t on the same level as Michaels.
Some of Michaels’s best matches were against Razor Ramon, Triple H, the Undertaker and Bret Hart. He simply was born to be a sports entertainer before that was the common theme in World Wrestling Entertainment. One of HBK’s greatest moments was against Ric Flair at WrestleMania 25. Everyone knew that Flair was going to retire and the former-WWE champion was going to do that.
Nearing the conclusion of the match, Michaels was about to hit the Sweet Chin Music. Before he connected with the move, he said to Flair, “I love you,” and the entire WWE Universe watched as Flair’s career came to an end. It’s those special moments that made Michaels so good at what he did.
