6 instances of 30 or more runs scored in an over in IPL history

The IPL is back. Long sixes, fast fours, huge totals, high chases, fast fifties and centuries, and all the other razzmatazz.Seven seasons of IPL, but there have been no occasion of a batsman hitting six sixes in an over so far. There has been an over where more than 36 runs were scored though, courtesy a no-ball. In all, there have been six instances where 30 or more runs were scored from one over.May there be a seventh occasion at least in IPL 8.

#1 30 runs - Andrew Symonds to Virender Sehwag

The first instance of 30 runs scored in an over in the history of Indian Premier League happened in just the seventh match of the tournament. The venue was Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad where Deccan Chargers, the home team, were playing against Delhi Daredevils. Deccan Chargers had put on 142 runs for eigth wickets batting first. 

Delhi Daredevils in reply to the target of 143, were 31 for 1 in the fourth over with Gautam Gambhir dismissed for 12 runs. But his partner Virender Sehwag was on the crease. Sehwag, playing his normal cricket, got to his 50 off 27 balls. At the end of 12 overs, Daredevils were in need of 31 runs. The bowler was Andrew Symonds bowling the 13th over to Virender Sehwag. Sehwag smashed 30 runs in the over.

Sehwag hit Symonds for alternative fours and sixes to score 30 runs in the over and then win the match in the next over by nine wickets.
