Asian Games 2014: All the Indian gold medallists

India began their Asian Games campaign on a bright note as they clinched gold on the first day of competition thanks to Jitu Rai. It did not go as expected in several events and disappointment ensued for Indian fans as they witnessed medal hopefuls depart one after another in Incheon. However, India managed to 11 gold medals, three short from their effort in Guangzhou four years ago.

#1 Jitu Rai - 50 m pistol

Jitu Rai opened India’s gold medal tally on Day 1 in Incheon as he clinched the top spot in the 50 m pistol event.

Rai shot steadily throughout the final and was just 0.7 points behind leader Nguyen of Vietnam. Nguyen shot 5.8 and Jitu was calm and shot 8.4 to clinch India’s first gold medal at this year’s Asian Games. The silver medal went to Nguyen and China's Wei Pang took home the bronze. Rai finished with a score of 186.2 points ahead of Nguyen’s 183.4.
