David Warner’s third-consecutive Test century meant it was another day to forget for New Zealand, as Australia ended day one at 416/2. Warner finished the day unbeaten on 244 and was ably supported by Usman Khawaja’s second Test hundred as the hosts made hay at the WACA after winning the toss. With Trent Boult continuing to look like a shadow of his former self and the rest of the pace attack doing little to trouble Warner and co., skipper Brendon McCullum had to resort to bringing himself and Guptill on to bowl on the first day of the second Test. Here are the best images from the day’s play.
