#1 India v Australia at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, November 2004
It was the final match of the 4-match Test series. Though India had already lost the series, losing 2 out the earlier 3 matches, still that game is remembered as one of India’s most memorable victories.
In the first innings, India was bowled out for a meagre 104 with Rahul Dravid being the highest scorer, managing 31 runs. Australia in reply scored 203. Anil Kumble grabbed a five-for and Murali Kartik picked up 4 wickets.
India in the second outing put up a better show than the first innings, scoring 205 runs. VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar got half centuries and helped India set a target of 107 runs for Australia for victory.
And then the most miraculous thing happened. Spinners used the rank turner at the Wankhede and restricted Australia to just 93 runs. It took India just 136 minutes in the fourth innings to take all the 10 wickets. This time, Harbhajan Singh bagged 5 wickets and Kartik was again amongst the wickets.
