Sri Lanka vs India, 3rd Test Day 3 Stats - Pujara carries his bat through and India's Deja vu

Ishant Sharma picked up five wickets for IndiaIndia ended day three of the third Test against Sri Lanka with a lead of 132. With two days remaining in the Test, they would love to capitalise on the situation and give the hosts a stiff target to chase. However, they need their skipper Kohli and Rohit Sharma to do the bulk of the scoring as the top order has already been dismissed. Earlier, Sri Lanka made 201 in their first innings after reeling at 47/6 at one stage thanks to fighting knocks by debutant Kushal Perera and Rangana Herath. Ishant Sharma picked up a 5-wicket haul for India and was well supported by Umesh Yadav and Stuart Binny. Here are some interesting numbers from day 3 of the Test.

#1 Deja vu from 1st Innings

India’s second innings might just be 8.1 overs old, but it has been a reflection of the first innings in more ways than one.

1 - Sri Lanka got a wicket on the 2nd ball of this innings when Prasad dismissed Pujara. Similarly, in the first innings, Prasad got rid of Rahul of the 2nd ball of the innings.

2 - KL Rahul was bowled today leaving a ball of Pradeep pitching outside the off-stump. In the first innings, he fell off in the same manner when he left Prasad's delivery which knocked his off-stump.

3 - KL Rahul scored 2 runs in this innings, the same as in the first innings.

4 - Rahane was dismissed leg before wicket by Pradeep today, the same combination which accounted for the Indian No 3 in the first innings as well.

5 - 1 six was struck by India in the first innings courtesy of Rohit Sharma. In the second innings of India so far, only one six have been struck so far which also belongs to Rohit Sharma.
