Sri Lanka vs India, 3rd Test: Second day's play in pictures

India ended Day 2 of the third Test against Sri Lanka at 292/8. Cheteshawar Pujara’s brilliant unbeaten knock of 135 helped the visitors recover after a shaky start and along with Amit Mishra, who scored 59, helped India gain the upper hand in the series decider. Resuming at 50/2, India lost skipper Virat Kohli early on before Dhammika Prasad picked up the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Stuart Binny in successive deliveries to press home the advantage for the hosts. However, Pujara and Mishra’s 104-run partnership for the 8th wicket ensured that India were the team smiling at the end of the day’s play. Here are the highlights of Day two in pictures.

#1 Virat Kohli dismissal

Virat Kohli survived a close shout for leg before wicket in the very first over of the day’s play. The Indian skipper’s troubled stint in the middle ended soon after he knicked a gentle outswinger from his Sri Lankan counterpart Angelo Mathews to be dismissed for 18.
