Stats: South Africa vs New Zealand 1st ODI - Amla on par with Gibbs

South Africa beat New Zealand in the first ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the series by 20 runs. Both teams were depleted a bit since a few big names were missing out, but it didn’t make a difference to Hashim Amla as he continued his merry ways. He scored his 21st ODI hundred and put up a huge partnership with Rilee Rossouw to take the game away from the Kiwis. 124 - runs scored by Hashim Amla today, highest for him against New Zealand, and 4th highest for any South African against the Kiwis.

16 - out of 21 centuries Amla has scored could not cross 130 mark. Today he scored 124.

5.52- Innings/hundred for Amla in One Day Internationals- lowest for any ODI batsman. Ten Doeschate and Virat Kohli are next on the ranking who take 6.40 and 6.95 innings respectively to score their centuries.
