Champions League: How many clubs can qualify for the Round of 16 or be eliminated on Matchday 5?
The UEFA Champions League group stages resume on Tuesday, 24 November, with Matchday 5 set to see many clubs playing make-or-break fixtures. While some teams are already assured of qualification to the Round of 16, other groups still have all four clubs still in the mix to finish in the top two.So what results will see teams qualify for the Round of 16 or the Europa League, or worse, completely eliminated by finishing last? We take a look at all eight groups to determine what needs to be done for each team to qualify.

- Matchday 5: Malmo vs PSG; Shakhtar Donetsk vs Real Madrid
- Matchday 6: Real Madrid vs Malmo; PSG vs Shakhtar Donetsk
Real Madrid are already through to the Round of 16. A win over Shakhtar Donetsk will ensure they top the group outright. If they draw and PSG don’t win, Madrid will still top.
Paris Saint-Germain need only a win to ensure qualification to the Round of 16. They can also go through with a draw if Shakhtar Donetsk do not win.
Malmo have no choice but to win to ensure they have a chance of finishing in the top two on Matchday 6.
Shakhtar Donetsk also have to win but they also need PSG to lose if they are to have a chance of finishing in the top two.
