Top five Premier League goal celebrations
A couple of weeks back, Mourinho made disparaging remarks about Samuel Etoos age. And what did Etoo do after he scored a goal? The Cameroonian who turns 33 on Monday, saw the funny side of it as he ran to the corner flag, before imitating an elderly man. All of which, got me thinking, was this one of the best choreographed celebrations the League has witnessed? Or have there been something better? Here are my top five Premier League goal celebrations. If you feel that there are some better, just post in the comments below.
#1 Bullard gives Phil Brown a taste of his own medicine
In December 2008, Hull City were 4-0 down before half-time at Manchester City. Phil Brown, who was the coach at the time decided that something had to be done. So, instead of going into the dressing room, he made the players stay on the pitch and started blasting them in front of a packed Etihad crowd.
As fate would have it, the very next year, at the same venue, Jimmy Bullard scored the equalizer and with Brown in the dugout, the midfielder decided to recreate the scene from 11 months earlier. His manager certainly saw the funny side of that as he said “the whole thing was timed to perfection.”
