Silly season has brought forth reports of several players reportedly drifting from their clubs to others, some with the lure of money, others being attracted my increased playing time or a step up to a bigger club. Many clubs are still looking to improve despite having nearly 2 months now to add to their squads. The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have used the latter half of the window more effectively while Liverpool went out right at the beginning to snap up some early transfers and build from there. Manchester United too have brought in some new faces to strengthen their team but they’re all still on the lookout to improve their squads.Real Madrid recently snapped up Matteo Kovacic and their neighbours Atletico Madrid have brought in a couple of new strikers after letting go of Mario Mandzukic. But neither side looks complete; come the right opportunity they will be on hand to pounce on it.Barcelona may not be able to play their new signings till January but that has not deterred them in the transfer market. Barcelona ace Neymar could move to Manchester United in a mega-money move costing up to as much as the obscene amount of £240 million, according to The Sun. United are attempting to land the former Santos ace before September 1 but are also looking at a long-term strategy of prising him away from Barcelona next year. He has three years left on his current contract but Barcelona reportedly want to extend his contract further.
Chelsea are set to sign Zenit St. Petersburg Argentine center-back Eziquiel Garay according to Daily Mail after seeing multiple bids for Everton defender John Stones rejected. The Argentine defender has been looking for a move away from Russia with Valencia and Roma among the clubs to have shown an interest.
Tottenham would have to cough up more than 22 million pounds for West Brom striker Saido Berahino after previously having a lower bid rejected. The striker has asked to leave in an attempt to force through a move to Tottenham after Spurs had a bid rejected last week, according to Sky Sports. The Baggies instantly dismissed his request on Monday and reiterated their desire to keep the England Under-21 forward at The Hawthorns.
Manchester United have joined Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne, according to The Daily Star. After failing to land Pedro, Louis van Gaal's men still have €200m available for new players.
