Transfer Rumours of the Day: 10th January 2015

10 days into the window, we are yet to see any big moves all across Europe, perhaps with the exception of Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri who completed his loan move to Inter Milan earlier this week. The Winter transfer window in Europe starts from the 1st of January and lasts a whole month, two days longer in Spain, Italy, Germany and France. Bringing you all the latest rumours from newspapers and agencies all across Europe, here are all the biggest and the latest transfer rumours of the day:

#1 Liverpool and Manchester United

Gonzalo Higuain – the answer to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ problems?

•  According to Mirror, Real Madrid’s interest in bringing back David De Gea back to Spain has increased by quite a margin as they have now reportedly contacted the Spaniard’s agent for a move in the next transfer window for £30m summer move. 

•  A £35m bid for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels from Manchester United could be on the cards, reports Mirror. The bid has however said to be rejected by the defender’s father.

•  Another report in Mirror links Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne to Manchester United with manager Louis van Gaal said to be very interested in the acquiring the 23-year-old’s signature.

•  Liverpool, who were rumoured to be planning to bring former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain to Anfield from Napoli next summer, might look to secure a deal this month itself, reports Express. Napoli has already completed the signing of Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini for £11million who is touted to be the Argentine’s replacement.

•  Liverpool are poised to make a £23.5m bid for Roma’s Miralem Pjanic who has been looked at as out-going Steven Gerrard’s replacement, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

•  According to the Daily Mail, Lucas Leiva of Liverpool could be on his way out of the club as Inter Milan are plotting a £7m bid for the Brazilian midfielder.
