The 2015 January transfer window has not been as exciting as one would’ve wanted it to be so far. Yes, there have been some standout transfers in the form of Lukas Podolski and Xherdan Shaqiri to Inter Milan. However, the Premier League or La Liga have not seen any big money or high profile moves yet. With clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid being heavily linked to transfer activity over this window, a big transfer should be right around the corner. From high profile rejects to prized captures, today’s transfer rumour round-up includes players from across Europe.
#1 Liverpool and Chelsea
• Liverpool are lining up Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph as Steven Gerrard’s replacement for £7.5 million. However, Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Aston Villa’s reluctance on selling him would mean that they would have to wait till the summer.
• West Bromwich Albion’s prolific striker, Saido Berahino is stalling on a new contract so that he could move to Liverpool for £20 million. If Berahino decides to stay, he would become the highest paid West Brom player ever.
• Last year Southampton and this year Aston Villa, Brendan Rodgers is looking to empty the key players from Villa Park as he plans to buy Christian Benteke for £15 million. However, Rodgers might fail in his endeavours as the Belgian is priced at £25 million.
• Chelsea are looking to sign Borussia Dortmund star, Marco Reus or Manchester United target Juan Cuadrado as there is growing speculation over Andre Schuerlle’s exit from Stamford Bridge.
