Algeria’s standout player , Islam Slimani plays for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese league in case you didn’t know about him before the tournament. The 26-year-old gave two memorable performances including the game against South Korea and  most importantly against Russia which sealed their qualification to the knockout stages.

It was the best World Cup ever for the African outfit and much of that credit should go to Slimani. He will be one of the emerging players in the next edition of FIFA.
