Google Earth view of all 12 Indian Premier League stadiums
Google Earth is oddly a very satisfying application as it enables the user to aerially look around places with their highly sophisticated map and geographical information program that maps the Earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellites, elevated photographs and the geographic information system (GIS) 3D globe. The TL;DR version would read – it lets you view locations in ways you have never before.Taking the Indian Premier League season into factor, here are 12 of the Indian Premier League stadiums, viewed from the perspective of Google Earth as a second installment to the series where I compile photos of stadiums using Google Earth:
#1 Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad
Home to the Rajasthan Royals, the Sardar Patel Stadium is one of India’s premier cricket stadiums and has a seating capacity of 54,000 spectators.
Fun Fact: Sunil Gavaskar scored his 10,000th run in Tests here against Pakistan in the season of 1986-87. It is also the same ground where Kapil Dev went past Richard Hadlee as the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket.
