In a game that was heavily dominated by Chennaiyin FC, Pune’s passing failed them completely and that came back to haunt them heavily. We take a look at the five talking points of the game:

#1 Chennaiyin FC get their tactics right

In the previous encounter between the two teams at the home stadium of FC Pune City, Chennaiyin FC kept up the pressure and tried hard but couldn't salvage anything beyond a draw. Despite attacking in waves, they couldn't find the elusive winning goal.

That was not the case to be today as they went on the offensive from the opening minutes of the game. And this was after they lost both Elano and Gouramangi (in the first half) and Mendoza (in the second half) to injuries. From Jeje and Mendoza's tireless runs, to the deep defending by Djemba Djemba and Mendy, they got their tactics right both in midfield and up front. The result – they managed to knock Kolkata off the top for the first time in the ISL this season.
