Top 10 important players who remained unsold at IPL 2014 auctions
The much awaited IPL auction is over. Rs 463.15 crores have been spent by the franchisees to fetch their desired cricketers. Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh went to Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping price of Rs. 14 crore, highest value of any player in the IPL this year. This year's auction saw many uncapped promising players being selected by different franchisees. Unfortunately, many important names were neglected in auctions and the cricketers remained unsold. Thus the unsold cricketers will not feature in this edition of the Indian Premier League. The list of unsold players is quite long and it includes some noteworthy names who themselves could have formed a formidable T20 side. Here's an XI consisting of the top players who missed out: *Note: Sri Lankan cricketers will not available for majority part of the tournament.
#1 Tillakaratne Dilshan
One of the best in the business currently, Tillakaratne Dilshan had featured in all the previous editions of IPL. He initially played for the Delhi Daredevils and later joined Royal Challengers Bangalore. Dilshan had scored 1153 runs in 52 matches in IPL with strike rate of 114.49. The Sri Lankan is also handy with the ball. He is a genuine match winner and an able opener. Dishan undoubtedly would have been an asset to any team.
