Top 5 Forwards in the Premier League 2013/2014
This has certainly been the year of the strikers. With the top teams much more inclined to play two up front, the forwards have certainly been getting plenty of support. Although the race for the Golden Boot is probably sewn up already, it takes nothing away from the quality of forwards or their finishing ability. Here are the top five forwards in the Premier League this season.
#1 Luis Suarez
Coming into the season, on the back of a lengthy ban, few could have expected what Suarez would go on to do. Fewer still predicted that he would even be at the club given the number of clubs he was attracting. But, whatever the reason for him staying on, Suarez has certainly established himself as one of the finest forwards in the World. In the opening 12 League games of the season Suarez had already scored 19 goals, including five braces and two hat-tricks.
And by the New Year, the Uruguayan had already managed 20 goals and five assists in the League, whilst developing a fearsome partnership with Sturridge. So far, he has scored 24 goals in 23 games and with more than a quarter of the season left, it should come as no surprise if he obliterates the current record for most goals in a single season.
