The winners of Game 3 in the NBA Finals have 86% of the time have gone on to have a championship parade in thier backyard and although the San Antonio Spurs won Game 3 comprehensively, do not make the mistake of crowning them champions in your heads as the Miami Heat celebrated with the Larry O’Brien trophy in South Beach even though the Spurs had won Game 3 of the 2013 Finals.No doubt the Finals series has ruled the NBA section in the sports pages of newspapers and magazines but surely that is not all that is going on in the NBA.There have been many other reports across the NBA capable of shaping the league’s future which have been overshadowed by the ongoing Finals series.These are not confirmed like some of the firings and appointments of the Head Coaching jobs in the NBA but reports or rumors that have been doing the rounds. Here are the latest from the league-

#5 John Calipari rejected mega contract to be Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach and President

University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari rejected a 10 year $80 million deal from Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cavaliers,who are looking for a coach after they fired Mike Brown at the end of this past season. 

The deal also promises Calipari both positions of Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations for the franchise. Had he taken the deal, Coach Cal would have been in the same position of power as Doc Rivers (Los Angeles Clippers), Gregg Popovich ( San Antonio Spurs), Flip Saunders (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Stan Van Gundy (Detroit Pistons).

Capilari instead took the 7 year $52 million extension from the University of Kentucky to stay as their basketball head coach.
