Who will induct Sting into WWE's Hall of Fame?
No, you’re the man, Stinger!WWE kicked off its Road to WrestleMania 32 by announcing that Sting would be the first member of the 2016 Hall of Fame class. The “Icon” who has wrestled in WCW, TNA and now WWE was the last major superstar to hold out from becoming a part of Vince McMahon’s circus. He finally made his way to both WrestleMania 31 and Night of Champions before an injury has sidelined him for the foreseeable future.Sting’s accomplishments are worthy of a place in the hallowed halls with other greats and legends.WWE made the announcement on Monday via its website:“For 14 years, sports entertainment fans the world over could only dream of Sting competing inside a WWE ring. In 2015, The Icon added that missing accolade to his legendary resume by competing on The Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 31. This year, on the eve of WrestleMania 32, Sting will receive an even bigger honor and take his rightful place in sports-entertainment history, as he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.”The Hall of Fame ceremony is a major part of the festivities of WrestleMania Week and is the featured event of the Saturday evening before the actual pay-per-view. As much as everyone has wanted to see him in WWE and in potential matches with The Undertaker or The Rock, Sting feuded with Triple H and Seth Rollins of the Authority. His battle for the “good” of the business is much like his battles in WCW as “The Franchise” choosing to fight for the honor of the company over crowning single achievements. One of the biggest and most exciting moments of the night is when those who are honored are inducted into the fraternity. Who will stand up in front of those in attendance and induct Sting into the Hall of Fame? Here is a look at few options.
#1 Ric Flair
If there is one wrestler who helped make Sting’s career, it was Flair. Before there was Sting, there was Dusty Rhodes. Flair once said in his autobiography, “To Be the Man,” he always thought Rhodes would be the NWA’s greatest hero and he would be the company’s greatest villain.
The same holds true for Sting and Flair.
The two opened Monday Nitro’s first show and they both closed down the show and WCW together. They will forever be linked for the success of the NWA in its later years and WCW.
There is no other wrestler more important in Sting’s career. This should be a slam dunk.
