#5 Pro- Wrestling is an avoided word
You will never really hear a commentator say the word ‘pro- wrestler’or ‘pro- wrestling’.
That may come off as obvious since Vince McMahon himself is not fond of that word with respect to his talent and his company. It’s all sports entertainment. Over the years, CM Punk has been a great advocate of the word ‘pro- wrestling’ on- screen. But since he’s gone, so has the usage of the word.
The commentary team is told to avoid that word and instead use words like ‘superstar’ or ‘athlete’. But Vince McMahon is also not really an advocate of always using the term sports entertainment. Rather, simply ‘entertainment will work as well.
