5 Reasons why WrestleMania 31 will be John Cena's worst ever
It is hard to write an introduction line about John Cena that hasn’t been already used. The Cenation leader has been reigning at the top of the mountain for nearly a decade now and will add another WrestleMania match to his resume on March 29 at the Levi’s stadium. He will lock horns with the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev in the pay-per-view for the United States Championship and though it looks like a solid outing on the book, for the standards of Cena, this is clearly a step down. There are certain factors that will make WrestleMania 31 the worst WrestleMania outing for Cena in recent years and here is a look at those:
#5 Missing Lana
Lana was hands down one of the best things about the buildup of this match. She had the ability to cover up for Rusev’s shortcomings on the microphone and was making her promos count with the whole Russian accent. However, in the middle of the feud, Lana had to pull out due to film commitments.
This turned out to be a big blow for the entire storyline and it won’t be any different at WrestleMania. An opening promo from Lana would have been mighty effective at the pay-per-view, but since it won’t be there, the entire pressure will be on the in-ring action. Also, WWE will find it hard to use the Anti-American card since Lana is generally the woman pulling the strings.
