#5 Brutus Beefcake ends Mr.Perfect\'s streak
Curt Hennig had returned to the WWE in 1988 as an arrogant heel, introducing his ‘Mr. Perfect’ moniker. Coupled with interesting promos and segments, Perfect had all the goods to become the WWE’s next main event star.
He would go on to have victories over Bret and Owen Hart and had a feud with the WWE Champion Hulk Hogan as well. Something that added to his character was his long unbeaten streak that stretched a year. Even though he had been pinned by Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior in house shows, it was never acknowledged on T.V.
So as Wrestlemania 6 came along, people expected that Hennig’s unbeaten streak would end – but nobody expected the guy to end it would be Brutus Beefcake.
The match proved that Perfect could carry anyone in the ring and is a true testament to the late legend’s talent that Beefcake was made to look as strong as he did.
