WWE Exteme Rules 2014: 5 talking points from the PPV
After a long hiatus, the WWE universe has finally, I repeat, finally got to witness something seriously special, and something that could well define the way WWEs shaping up for years to come. Its been a while. Hasnt it?It was high time that the creative writers of the company started earning their bread by doing away with crap storylines and that is exactly what they did. Allowing reasonable number of weeks for most plots to develop was a huge success in itself. The Extreme Rules for 2014 was based on absorbing rivalries; and all the efforts paid rich dividends as the show turned out to be an absolute treat, living up to the promise and hype. To start with, WWE has done an excellent job by getting the right superstar(s) to win in the all-important encounters. Now then, what next? Where are we headed? Lets find out:
#1 The Shield: The limelight is yours!
All the hoopla surrounding the tussle between The Shield and the Evolution translated into genuine, hardcore action. While Reigns and Ambrose were top-notch, Seth Rollins earned the limelight with his frenzied approach. The Hounds of Justice have been the companys delight for over a year now. Their popularity has skyrocketed after the babyface turn.
Now that they have defeated the Evolution and expectedly so, it would be quite interesting to see how WWE is plans to go forward with these three men. The Shield shouldnt come apart as the groups tendency to put up spectacular showings should augur well for a couple of months.
There is the possibility, nevertheless, that WWE may cash in on this opportunity to launch Roman Reigns as a full-fledged individual wrestler, in near future.
