WWE RAW 18th January 2016 - 3 things that worked
The Wyatt Family ended the show on a high.Let’s begin by being brutally honest - this was a terrible go-home show for one of the most awaited PPV’s of the year, and THE most terrible first go-home show for the first PPV of the year. But it had its silver linings. For example the women’s division is finally being written well. The year has seen the main roster writing team not miss much of a beat while making this feud between Charlotte and Lynch seem worth delving into. Their storyline is the best moving into the Rumble but the build up to the eponymous PPV match hasn’t been up to the mark. But, still, here are the 3 things that worked from last night’s Raw –
#1 Lynch promo
Lynch had a short match with Tamina which ended in glorious fashion for her where she very skillfully executed her submission move, The Disarmer. After winning, she asked Charlotte for a championship match at the Royal Rumble.
Of course, the champ was in no mood to let that happen. So Lynch crafted her way into getting a title shot by targeting the champ’s father who is vicariously living his wrestling career through his daughter.
He got all riled up when Lynch told him that Charlotte is no where near the greatness The Nature Boy achieved in his heyday.
This was very well done and both these women are working really well in their respective roles.
