WWE Superstars who had their Farewell Match in WrestleMania

As an old quote says, all good things must come to an end, and same applies to every immortal that set his foot into the squared circle to embrace the cheers from the fans. A majority of the superstars hangs up their kayfabe character without much of hype while others give a farewell match which would be a big draw for the promotion they are in. Having a farewell match is a great thing to start with but something which is more legendary than that is having that farewell match on the grand stage of them all: WrestleMania. Not many names had the luxury of doing the same but there were some rare breeds that were fortunate enough to see out their career with a big WrestleMania moment. So here is a look at those big names who took the final bow at the legendary pay-per-view.

#5 Edge

Edge is one of those superstars who had to bow down to the clutches of injury at an early age itself. Before his career was cut short, Edge had his last match came at WrestleMania XXVII against Alberto Del Rio in which Edge successfully defended his World Heavyweight championship.

The fans weren’t aware that they were witnessing Edge get into the ring for the last time as they were not informed. Edge later came to Raw an announced that he had to retire from in ring action due to the neck problems which even had risks of ending his life.

Edge never wrestled a match after that but one thing that the company would now regret is about not informing that fans that it was his last match.

If they had did that, Edge would’ve had a great send off at WrestleMania rather than a smaller ovation on Raw,
