Top 5 WWE Contract Signings in recent times
Contract signing segments have always delivered some of the most recognizable moments in the WWE. Time and again, superstars have hyped their feuds while making their matches official for the pay-per-views.Without further hesitation, we take a look at five of the best contract signings that have gone down in recent years.
#1 CM Punk and John Cena 2011
The one contract signing that did not happen in 2014. It happened three years ago during the Summer of Punk. This contract signing took almost 20 minutes of WWE’s airtime during the then 2 hour Raw.
It included CM Punk calling out the WWE in all the aspects that he and any hardcore fan thought they had failed. He even mentioned the myth of a contract signing and was just waiting for the tables and chairs to fly off the ring.
CM Punk and John Cena represented two extremes of a system. Here was a virtuous hero and a not so virtuous anti-hero. This was funny, intense and hard-hitting and it got the job done. It paved the way for a spectacular Summerslam main event.
