They serve as the primary motivation for most superstars as they attempt to reach the pinnacle of their sport that makes the Title belts all the more prestigious.It was considered a huge deal when the likes of the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin got their own titles. Even though they are legends in their own right, custom titles are a big deal. Of course, they would become a little more of a commonplace, often taking away from the aura of the title.In this article, I will focus on the ugliest title belts in wrestling. #5 WWE hardcore title
Mick Foley was the first ever holder of this belt, and he admitted on the Monday Night War DVD, he hated it and I really don’t blame him. It was an old belt that was smashed up and literally duct taped back together to make it look ‘EXTREEMEEE’ and the word ‘HARDCORE’ was written on the tape.
The belt looked ugly and I imagine it was hard to carry around as well.
Although the hardcore division had its niche in WWE and was quite popular and entertaining, it could have done it with a better belt that at least looked more appealing. The belt failed to make the division look unhinged, instead making the titleholders look stupid.
