Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat Prediction: Injury Report, Starting 5s, Betting Odds & Spreads - December 6 | 2022-23 NBA Season

The Detroit Pistons (6-19) have had a difficult season thus far. They're coming into tonight's game off the back of a home game loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Their opponents, the Miami Heat (11-13), find themselves in almost the same situation, most recently losing a road game to the Grizzlies.

The Heat have performed respectable of late, garnering a 4-2 record in their past six games. The Pistons, meanwhile, 2-4 in their past six games and haven't looked great offensively or defensively this season. Tonight's game is a must-win for both of these struggling Eastern Conference teams.

Pistons vs. Heat Prediction

Cade Cunningham's continued absence hasn't done Detroit any favors this season. Worse still, the team's defense has been consistently subpar this season, leading to where they are now. Sporting more than three times as many losses as they have wins, the Pistons are nearly always the underdogs this season.

The Heat, meanwhile, haven't looked great this season either but are a superior team defensively. They're also less blighted by key player injuries compared to the Pistons and will enjoy the home field advantage tonight. The only potentially major problem for the Heat this evening will be fatigue from having just played a game last night. Even so, they are overall the superior, more cohesive unit. They should be able to get the job done tonight.

Prediction: Heat -9 (-110)
