NBA DFS Picks Today: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Plays and Strategy - October 21 | 2022-23 NBA Season

There are 11 games listed for Friday's NBA DFS DraftKings and FanDuel Slates. Both slates begin at 7:00 p.m. EDT tonight. Let's look at the best players to target for both production and value this Friday, October 21.

NBA DFS Star Picks

Karl-Anthony Towns, PF/C, Minnesota Timberwolves (DraftKings $9.4, FanDuel $9.0k)

Big man Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the better fantasy players in the NBA. The three-time All-Star had a rough opening night versus the Thunder, but he should bounce back tonight. Towns averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists last season, and he should be around these numbers once again. With the acquisition of Rudy Gobert, Towns' rebounding stats might take a hit, but elsewhere he shouldn't be impacted. Tonight, Minnesota matches up with the Utah Jazz, who start undersized Kelly Olynyk at center and at power forward they go with Lauri Markkanen. Expect Towns to dominate this weak defensive frontcourt on Friday.

Other NBA DFS Star Picks: Trae Young, PG, Atlanta Hawks (DraftKings $9.7, FanDuel $8.7k), Jakob Poeltl, C, San Antonio Spurs (DraftKings $6.2, FanDuel $6.7k), Tyrese Haliburton, PG/SG, Indiana Pacers (DraftKings $7.9, FanDuel $7.9k)

NBA DFS Value Picks

Santi Aldama, PF/C, Memphis Grizzlies (DraftKings $5.1, FanDuel $4.3k)

Santi Aldama was excellent against the Knicks in his team's season opener, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds in 38 minutes. He usually won't see 38 minutes, as last game went to overtime, but he will be the starting power forward until Jaren Jackson Jr. comes back. Aldama was drafted last year, and he was used very sparingly, but it's clear that he's developed over the offseason. The 21-year old forward can space the floor, finish inside, and grab rebounds consistently, making him a reliable value option so long as his salary remains around this price.

Jabari Smith , PF, Houston Rockets (DraftKings $5.1, FanDuel $4.3k)

Jabari Smith made his professional debut on Wednesday, recording 17 points and 7 rebounds in a loss to the Hawks. Smith tallied 32 minutes and even though he shot just 6-for-17, he should be more comfortable in his second career game. The Grizzlies are missing Jaren Jackson Jr. on the interior, who is one of the best defenders in the league. Memphis does have Steven Adams at center, who is solid defensively, but Smith should get a lot of touches once again. Expect the rookie to have a stronger fantasy game tonight.

Other NBA DFS Value Picks: Tre Jones, PG, San Antonio Spurs (DraftKings $4.9, FanDuel $5.1k), Kelly Oubre, SF/SG, Charlotte Hornets (DraftKings $5.6, FanDuel $5.1k)
