New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons Prediction, Odds, Line, Spread, and Picks - October 21 | NBA 2022-23 Regular Season
The New York Knicks (0-1) will host the Detroit Pistons (1-0) on Friday, October 21. The Pistons' first win came against an exciting, young Orlando Magic team (much like themselves). The Knicks lost a heartbreaker in 2OT against the Memphis Grizzlies and will look to bounce back hard in New York. Madison Square Garden should have a loud, pumped-up crowd for the home opener. Both teams will be battling for a top 8 spot in the Eastern Conference this season.

New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons Key Stats
The Knicks were very dependent on Julius Randle and Cam Reddish in their first game. The two combined for 46 points and had to carry RJ Barrett while he had an awful night of shooting. Barrett was held to 11 points, shooting 3-18 FG and went 0-6 from the 3-point line. Don't count on seeing those numbers too often from Barrett, but do count on a strong bounce back from him. The Knicks added free-agent Jalen Brunson, who had a modest 15 points. The Knicks did show how much fight they have, a stat that doesn't show in the box score. If Brunson and Barrett can play to the level they're both capable of, the Knicks' offensive production could be very efficient and dangerous. The offense will come together with more reps and a tough grit defense that can keep them together until then.
Detroit has looked great out of the gate as they held off a versatile Magic team. The Pistons scored 113 and were led by newly acquired Bojan Bogadanovic. He cooked a little bit from 3 as he made 6 of 10 to help finish with 24 points. Bogadanovic added 5 rebounds and 2 assists to help share some of the workload with young Cade Cunningham. Cade was great last year in his rookie season as he could control the entire Detroit offensive system. Now, he doesn't need to score as much and doesn't have to have the ball in his hand every second. Expect Cade's efficiency to boom this season. He finished with 18 points and 10 assists. The assists were an impressive part of his last game; look for him to continue maximizing Detroit's options.
Bogadanovic and Cunningham won't be able to execute as freely against the Knicks as they were an inexperienced Orlando defense. As mentioned, the Knicks pride themselves on being a tough, physical team and the MSG crowd will accept nothing less tonight. Cade is the type of player who rises to the occasion, all the way back to his college days. The biggest stage in the NBA will bring out a big night for him. The Knicks are ready to get one in the win column and will be ready for a tough game.

New York Knicks vs. Detroit Piston Betting Prediction
The Pistons have had terrible stats against the Knicks and while on the road last season, but they're a new team now. The Knicks won't take no for an answer tonight and handle business with a wild home crowd, but Detroit won't fall far behind. This is the lowest over/under line on the sheet tonight, take the over despite tough defense.
