Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Kansas Jayhawks Prediction, Odds, Line, Spread, and Picks - November 5 | 2022 NCAAF Season

The Kansas Jayhawks (5-3) will host the No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-2) on Saturday, November 5th, for a must-see Big 12 conference matchup. The Cowboys are 3-2 in conference play while the Jayhawks are 2-3 and desperately looking to get back to .500 and salvage what was an extremely promising start to the season. The Cowboys are coming off a brutal 48-0 loss last weekend where QB Spencer Sanders couldn't rally a sign of life. The Jayhawks are coming off a respectable 35-23 loss against Baylor. The game has no shortage of storylines going into the weekend, but perhaps the biggest question is who will the two quarterbacks be?

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Kansas Jayhawks Key Stats

It's hard to bet on this game given all of the questions surrounding the QB matchup this week. Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders has been playing injured the last couple of weeks, but after the blowout, his health status and availability has yet to be announced. If he's out, the Cowboys could be in trouble again on offense. There seem to be rumors trending that Kansas QB Jalon Daniels could make his long-awaited return to action after leaving the TCU game this season. Neither status is official. We'll try to use that to our advantage.

The Jayhawks' offense scored 23 points last week, but didn't look very impressive. QB replacement Jason Bean did have 232 yards in the air, but the ground game was only good for 56 yards despite two goal line touchdowns. If Jalon Daniels does return, we don't expect him to scramble or run much. Look for Kansas to take advantage of the Cowboys' defense, allowing just under 300 passing yards per game.

Oklahoma State veteran QB Spencer Sanders has proven to be a tough soldier this season. Considering it's this late in the week and he still hasn't been ruled out, the Jayhawks have to prepare for him and so do we. If Sanders is good to go, he's going to do everything possible to correct this Cowboys offense after last week's shutout. The Kansas secondary has proven vulnerable to deep-balls all season and Sanders will have to take shots down-field.

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Kansas Jayhawks Betting Prediction

Kansas desperately will need their sixth win of the season to get back to bowl eligibility for the first time in ages. They've been putting together the right gameplan for two weeks now and will bring everything they have on offense right out of the gate. The Jayhawks will start strong and take an early lead into halftime. Defensive cracks will show and QB statuses will affect the second half more, but Kansas gets an early jump before a coin-flip in the second half.

Prediction: Kansas First Half +0.5 (+106)
