West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders Key Stats
West Virginia has a complete lack of defensive experience in the secondary and it's shown all season. Injuries and transfers have left the Mountaineers incredibly short-staffed and have had to piece together a lineup every week. This has wasted a very talented offense and also created some deep value in betting the over (classic Big 12 football). Keeping the theme with that, the WVU offense clicked last week against Baylor and put up 43 points. The Mountaineers had their ground and air attack firing and J.T. Daniels looked solid per usual and WVU RB Mathis stepped in to take advantage of the increased workload to find the endzone twice. If the Mountaineers can keep the offense rolling, the Red Raiders defense has proven vulnerable already. The WVU defense being able to slow the Texas Tech offense will be a looming question.
Texas Tech QB Behren Morton was able to lead the offense with 31 points last week against a top ten Oklahoma State team. Texas Tech lost their starting QB to a shoulder injury in the season opener, and Tyler Shough is set to return this week. The interesting story is that Texas Tech could possibly be using a 3 quarterback system against WVU this week. At the very least, the same 2 (Morton and Donovan Smith) will continue to split snaps. Adding a third QB to the cycle will add more distress to the WVU. The Red Raiders average 365 passing yards per game, and with the defense in question, expect close to that number again. Especially with RB SaRodorick Thompson facing a tough WVU defensive line.

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders Betting Prediction
Expect a hard-fought shootout this week and the over/under line to be right on the money. Texas Tech adds 300+ passing yards and finds the endzone, but J.T. Daniels and WVU keep close pace. Texas Tech's defense will put pressure on Daniels to get some key stops, but won't be able to slow down the diverse weapons enough to cover. It may come down to the last possession, but WVU will be right there in the final minutes and the over will hit.
Prediction: WVU +6.5 (-114), Over 65.5 (-115), Over 33.5 First Half (-105)
