Govan also made the rounds four days ago when Izela, one of the four children she shares with Gilbert Arenas, made her college debut with the Louisville Cardinals.
She shared a series of clips on her Instagram story, praising Izela for her impactful play and letting her followers get a glimpse of what might be a potential WNBA star.
The first story read "That's my baby," as Izela led the transition for an easy score. Then, she showed her daughter driving through multiple defenders to make a layup, captioning it "Again again, Mama."
The final clip showed Izela scoring once again, this time coming off a perfect screen, and she just wrote, "Told you."
Izela finished her debut with seven points, three rebounds, and one assist in 23 minutes to help Louisville beat Southern Indiana 75-51.
Laura Govan shares with daughter on her relationship with Gilbert Arenas
Gilbert Arenas' relationship with his former wife was full of ebbs and flaws, some of which they kept away from their children. Early in November, in an appearance on Carlos King's "Reality With The King," she shared details about how she finally opened up with Izela about how things went down:
"I remember her telling me when she turned 18, she said, 'Okay, now that I'm 18, you have to tell me the truth,' because I always used to tell her, 'I'll wait until you get older, I'll wait until you get 18 and then I'll tell you the truth,'" Govan said.
"She was like, 'I want to know' and we sat down. We had a lot of cries and a lot of laughs. And I don't share just the the bad, because that's not real, there's some good in there. I have to give them all of it."
The former Washington Wizards star continues to be a part of his children's lives, and while it wasn't always easy, the couple reportedly gets along just fine now.
