Bangaldesh to host Asia Cup as India confirm participation

Rivarly to be reignited?

Bangladesh has confirmed that the 2014 Asia Cup will be held in their country between February 24 and March 7. Doubts regarding the participation of India were also cleared after the team altered the New Zealand tour to participate in the tournament.

The bi-annual tournament will be contested between India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The venues are yet to be decided but Dhaka and Fatullah are the favorites to host the matches.

The dates and venues were discussed in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Chennai on Saturday. However, the meeting revealed that decision will only be made after confirmation with official broadcaster Nimbus.

“India has confirmed those dates. Now we will wait for the broadcaster to confirm they are fine. There is no reason why they should not broadcast. Those are the only dates when all the four participating countries are available to play,” said the official statement.
