5th World Nomad Games 2024 Medal Tally: Updated standings after Day 3
The World Nomad Games 2024 is currently underway in the Kazakh capital city of Astana. A total of 4000 athletes from 92 nations are taking part in the tournament, which features traditional games from Central Asia. The event began on September 8 and will end on September 15.
After the end of Day 3, hosts Kazakhstan retained their position at the top with an astonishing haul of 48 medals, which include 21 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals.
Kazakhstan has been in incredible form this year, and they have more than double the number of medals won by second-placed Kyrgyzstan, who have amassed 23 in total, including seven gold medals.
Meanwhile, India is currently in seventh position with a total haul of five medals, including one gold medal and four bronze medals. This has been an incredible result for India, with the country making its World Nomad Games debut this year.
Pakistan, who was ranked 11th at the end of Day 2, dropped to 21st place after failing to make any additions to their haul of two bronze medals.

Who is representing India in the fifth World Nomad Games 2024?
The Indian contingent at the World Nomad Games 2024 includes the Traditional Archery Society of Ladakh competing in traditional archery and the seven-wrestler team from the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) competing in the Belt & Mas wrestling.
Traditional archery is one of the most competitive events in the World Nomad Games, and this year’s edition will feature over 120 archers taking part in three disciplines – 30m, 60m, and 70m.
Meanwhile, the traditional wrestling contingent is made up of seven wrestlers and three officials from Nagaland. The officials include two coaches and one match official who will act as the referee.
