Travis Hunter names 3 rappers who help him get in the zone
Travis Hunter has been in a league of his own to start the 2024 college football season. The Colorado Buffaloes star wideout and defensive back is garnering Heisman attention with his play through his team's first five games.
In an interview with JLab Audio on Thursday afternoon, Hunter discussed how he gets in the zone before games. He also named three rappers he listens to in order to get hyped up.
"I like to listen to a lot of Lil Wayne before the game," Hunter said. "And then Lil Durk or Lil Baby."
The Buffaloes star, however, insisted that he doesn't need music to help him get ready.
"I don't really need too much to get me pumped up. I'm already pumped up on-site. I just get up and go brush my teeth and the day is started already."
JLab is a popular NIL venture among college football players. Its roster includes Arizona Wildcats receiver Tetairoa McMillan and Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard.
Travis Hunter bolstering Heisman odds with stellar play
Travis Hunter is shooting up sportsbooks' Heisman Trophy odds lists due to his All-American-caliber play on offense and defense.
Hunter clinched a 38-31 win for the Buffaloes over Baylor in Week 4 with a forced fumble in overtime.
Hunter followed that up with another stellar performance versus UCF. The two-way player caught nine passes for 89 yards and a touchdown, and notched two solo tackles and an interception, hitting the Heisman pose after the pick.
Hunter's odds of winning the prize have reduced from +3500 to start the season to +450, the second best in the country behind Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe (+200), per BetMGM.
Hunter leads the Buffaloes in receiving, catching 46 passes for 561 yards and six touchdowns. He has also performed as arguably the nation's best cornerback, recording 16 total tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
