"Vinesh is good at politics" - Fans criticise wrestler after exposing IOA Chief PT Usha
Vinesh Phogat has taken the internet by surprise in a recent interview with AAA Media. She revealed that when she was at the hospital post her disqualification, Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha went there to just click a photo with her and no proper support was provided.
Phogat spoke about how she didn't get proper support and lashed out at the politics which is a prevailing thing everywhere, be it sports or some other field. She said:
"There was politics there. That's why I was heartbroken. Politics is everywhere. You are on a hospotal bed where you don't know what's happening in life and going through a bad phase and you come there and click a photo without permission to show the world we are with you. Then you upload it on social media to show unity."
Indian sports enthusiasts showed mixed emotions on these remarks on social media. One user commented on X:
"PT Usha came to meet vinesh phogat for her personal promotion only. We can't expect such insensible behaviour from such a former players."
Another user criticised Vinesh Phogat, writing:
"One thing I am learning is that Vinesh is good at politics. She seems to be good at lying. She should have just concentrated on sports!!! I hope she doesn't regret her decision years down the line to enter politics."
One user wrote on X:
"What a shame! Such icons are behaving so lowly only because of politics."
Some fans went extreme in criticising Vinesh Phogat. A handful feel she has become a professional in politics too.
A user was seen writing about Phogat:
"This person has gone berserk & now I don't have any sympathy for her, she is just exploiting the unfortunate event. She was thanking authorities when she got her visa swiftly. It is impossible that without government support she can go there and participate. Pathetic!"
Another user lashed Phogat by saying:
"Kisi din Sachin Tendulkar ko bhi na bol de wo politics krte uppar wala sab dekh rha jiss tarah tera medal liya gya wo uppar wale ka hi kaam tha tum jaise athletes jo legend ki respect krna nhi jante jo kuch PTA USHA Ne desh ke liya kiya hua uss waqt mein jab desh mein kuch nhi tha tum jaise politics wrestler to soch bhi nhi skte."
One fan was pretty straightforward in claiming that Phogat has now become a pure politician. The account wrote:
"Now vinesh is become pure politician."

Vinesh Phogat got disqualified from the final of the women's 57kg freestyle wrestling and came back home empty-handed. She had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) for a shared silver medal but her plea was dismissed.
She later came back to India and received a warm welcome in her homeland, following which she decided to step into the political battlefield.
