Sahana Kumari bows out of high jump
India’s lone entry in the women’s high jump at the London Olympics Sahana Kumari bowed out after failing to clear a height of 1.85m in three consecutive attempts.
The result was a bit surprising, considering she cleared 1.80m with ease on her very first attempt.
Sahana finished tied for 28th, just above the bottom, in a field of 34 jumpers. It was a below-par performance from her considering her personal and season best jump was 1.92m.
Sahana was one of three Indians in action today with Geeta Phogat‘s quarter-final match in freestyle wrestling and Tintu Luka‘s 800m run qualification scheduled for later in the evening.
