The best-looking football managers in the world- Part Two
After receiving some heartening, yet strange, reviews to the Part One of this series, we’ve braced ourselves to be on the receiving end of some unreasonable condemnation as we present the Part Two of the series.
Disclaimer- Just to make ourselves more apparent, striking good looks is the sole criteria behind us conjuring up this list, a guy’s success record on and off the pitch isn’t. A man could have the accomplishments of Sir Alex Ferguson but if he possesses the handsomeness of Sir Ian Dowie, it wouldn’t do his chances any favours Accept our apologies in advance and please don’t spam the comments section.
The ‘Prince of Denmark’, as he was dotingly called in his homeland, is one of the few guys who has had one of the most sterile reputations over the course of his career. Romario described him as the fifth best footballer ever behind Pele, Maradona, himself (so much for humility) and Zidane. Safe to say, as he continues to create ruffles managing his ‘Welsh Barcelona‘, his sharp tailored suits, crisp shirts, chronograph watches and gorgeous tresses are capable of garnering equal amount of attention.
Employment status- Manager at Swansea City since June, 2012.
Relationship status- Married to Siw Laudrup.
Famous, intelligent, charismatic, passionate and successful, the man who vigilantly treads the finest of lines between confidence and arrogance with utmost panache, ‘The Special One’, or as he himself proclaimed, ‘The Only One’, has seen it all and almost won it all. Immaculately astute in his press conferences, equally laid back in his clothing, the man is surrounded by an aura that makes him almost impossible and irresistible to ignore. Moreover, no one can dare ignore that devilish grin.
Employment status- (Under fire) Head Coach at Real Madrid since May, 2010.
Relationship status- Married to Matilde Faria since 1989.
Them Italians, eh? Widely held as a ‘bad boy’ in his playing days, he could effortlessly put a classy bad guy out of a James Bond movie to shame with his imposing dressing sense. As his biographer Luca Caioli summarised, he knows how to choose the right clothes, he plays immaculately with his Guccis and Armanis. Just to perk things up, he pulls that scarf off with dash and panache. Moreover, his hair- dryer treatment takes extra care that the damp Manchester weather doesn’t mess his hair up.
Employment status- Manager at Manchester City since December, 2009.
Relationship status- Married to Federica Mancini.
You didn’t think he had a surname too, did you? Neither did we. However, what is pretty evident is the impeccable style and chocolaty good looks that this man brought to the San Siro pitch. The man who committed the ultimate sin by jumping ships from red to the blue side of Milan has criminally good dressing sense with his sharp fitted black suits, crisp white shirts, skinny ties and the occasional scarves in winters. A laid back attitude coupled with his free, flowing silky locks do nothing to harm his presence.
Employment status- Director of Football at Paris Saint-Germain since July, 2011.
Relationship status- Has a girlfriend called Anna Billó is what we last heard.
One of the most temperamental and uncompromising characters in British (Irish) footballing history, he doesn’t have the conventional good looks but there’s certainly something about him that makes him stand out in a crowd. And no, it’s not the ‘I’ll see you out there attitude.’ Sharp overcoats, well fitted suits, short hair coupled with the occasional beard and fiery eyes, the man had it all going in the management days. Quite a dresser.
Employment Status- Jobless after being sacked by Ipswich Town in January, 2011.
Relationship status- Married to Theresa Doyle since 1997.
The man whose sudden demise left a colossal void in the footballing fraternity that no tributes or acknowledgements could recompense. He was an amazingly handsome, professional and admirable as a footballer, but more importantly, a modest and respected human being. Known for the revival of Welsh football with the influx of young blood, one of those who genuinely loved the game. One of those stars that faded too soon.
