1. Manchester City sack manager Roberto Mancini

Roberto Mancini was sacked as manager of Manchester City on Monday– a year to the day after leading the club to the English Premier League title.

2. You’ve topped Treble party, Ferguson tells United fans

Alex Ferguson thanked tens of thousands of Manchester United fans as they gathered to salute him and his final English champion side following the culmination of an open-top bus parade from Old Trafford to Manchester Town Hall on Monday.

3. Pollard’s blitzkrieg takes Mumbai Indians to the top

Kieron Pollard single-handedly took the Mumbai Indians to the top of the table, scoring an unbeaten 66 off just 27 balls to help his team beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets at the Wankhede Stadium .

4. Heat on brink of eliminating struggling Bulls

LeBron James had 27 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as the Miami Heat routed Chicago 88-65 to seize a commanding 3-1 series lead in their second round Eastern Conference series.

5. Grizzlies beat Thunder to seize control of series

Mike Conley scored a team-high 24 points as Memphis rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat Oklahoma City 103-97 in overtime in game four of their second round playoff series.

6. Robson beats Venus, next up Serena

Briton Laura Robson beat Venus Williams 6-3, 6-2 in blustery conditions at the ATP/WTA Rome Masters on Monday and now faces the second half of a one-two punch when she next plays Williams’ sister and world number one, Serena.

7. Stage winner Degenkolb pulls out of Giro

Germany’s John Degenkolb who sprinted to victory on stage five of the Giro d’Italia pulled out of the race during Monday’s rest day, his Argos team announced.
