1. IPL 6: Wily Narine foxes Daredevils into submission

3. Yonex Australian Open: Gurusaidutt, Anand reach third round; Jayaram bows out

India’s RMV Gurusaidutt dug deep into his reserves before halting the stiff challenge of Thailand’s Suppanyu Avihingsanon 14-21, 21-18, 21-19 to reach the third round of the Yonex Australia Badminton Open Grand Prix Gold Championship, being played at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC) on Wednesday.

4. Ryder only hit once, N. Zealand court hears

New Zealand cricketer Jesse Ryder was only punched once and his injuries were not as serious as reported, a lawyer for one of the two men charged with his assault told a court.

5. UEFA Champions League: Dortmund denied in Malaga stalemate

6. Celtics beat Pistons to seal playoff berth

7. Stosur, Wozniacki advance at Charleston

Ex-champions Sam Stosur and Caroline Wozniacki cruised into the third round of the WTA Tour’s Family Circle Cup, while Venus Williams had to battle her way through.

The second-seeded Wozniacki breezed past Spaniard Silvia Soler-Espinosa 6-1, 6-1 just under an hour, while the third-seeded Aussie Stosur routed New Zealand’s Marina Erakovic 6-1, 6-2 on the green clay at Daniel Island Tennis Center.
