Saina Nehwal cruised to a 21-16 21-11 win over Belaetrix Manuputi of Indonesia to book a quarter-final place against old rival Wang Shixian of China.
2. P. Kashyap enters men’s quarter-finals at All England.
Parupalli Kashyap beat seventh seed Kenichi Tago of Japan 21-18, 21-12 to reach the last 8 at the All England Championships. He will face China’s Chen Long in the next round.
3. Bale ban a blessing in disguise says AVB.
Tottenham manager Andre Villas Boas has indicated Gareth Bale’s third yellow card of the Europa League, which rules him out of the second leg against Tottenham as a blessing in disguise. “To be fair, with this result, we would have asked him to get the yellow card (if he had not been booked) to be ‘clean’ for the last eight.
4. Chelsea slump to defeat against Steaua Bucharest in Europa League.

5. New Zealand pile on the misery against England.
New Zealand reached 402-7 on Day 3 of the opening Test against England, with debutant Hamish Rutherford’s (in pic) score of 171 alone proving more than the English team total.
6. Nadal reveals missing Olympics as toughest part of injury lay-off.

8. Tiger Woods grabs share of lead at WGC – Cadillac Championships.
World No. 2 Tiger Woods fired a six-under-par 66 to seize a share of the lead as Rory McIlroy struggled again in the first round of the $8.5 million World Golf Championships Cadillac Championship.
9. Oklahoma Thunder beat New York Knicks 95-94 in thriller.
Kevin Durant went for 34 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Russell Westbrook had 21 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder won their third straight, defeating the Knicks, 95-94, in a back-and-forth thriller at Madison Square Garden. In the absence of Carmelo Anthony (stiff knee), J.R. Smith led the Knicks with 36 points.
10. Nuggets rout Clippers 107-92 to extend win streak to 12.
The Denver Nuggets routed the surging Los Angeles Clippers 107-92 courtesy 21 points from Ty Lawson and 20 from Danilo Gallinari to their 12th straight home win. Despite 19 points from Matt Barnes and 17 from Blake Griffin, the Clippers saw their five-game road winning streak come to an end.
